How WPURLs works

A plain account of what gets included, how it is ordered, and what WPURLs does not claim.

Publishers

WPURLs checks 44 enabled feeds every 30 minutes. The directory includes official project channels, independent publications, company publications, security researchers, and job boards. A feed must be reachable, useful to web professionals, and clear about where each item originated.

Relevance

WPURLs is broader than WordPress alone. Search, publishing, security, performance, business, and relevant web work are included because they affect WordPress professionals. Broad job feeds use explicit terms to admit web, software, product, design, SEO, and content roles while rejecting unrelated work.

Coverage groups

WPURLs groups articles only when at least two different publishers use the same CVE or release identifier, or when their titles share at least three uncommon terms and pass a strict similarity threshold. Excerpts never create a group by themselves. The label reports how many publishers are present; it is not a popularity score.

Topic activity

Today means the latest 24 hours. This week means the latest seven days. A topic is marked more active only when it has at least three items today and at least one and a half times its average daily volume across the preceding six days.

Links and ownership

Headlines, excerpts, and publication names remain attributed to their publishers. Every article link goes directly to the original site. WPURLs does not generate replacement articles, automated summaries, severity ratings, or editorial endorsements.
